The cost of travel is expensive as well as adding huge carbon costs to the environment. Skip the trip, use ICT to work remotely. TechSoup’s webinar on shares ways that your nonprofit or library can use new affordable telecommunication tools like Voice over IP (VoIP), virtual PBX, and virtual private networking (VPN) to reduce your need to travel and better enable telecommuting and virtual meetings.

This webinar is especially useful for organizations that have branch locations, that respond to emergencies or disasters, or are interested in having more employees and volunteers able to work effectively from home. Speaker Information 

As a social entrepreneur, Matt Bauer has worked to improve communities in the US and abroad in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors over the past 20 years. Before co-founding BetterWorld Telecom, Matt served in a series of leadership roles in the telecommunications and power industries, including the AES Corporation, NETtel Communications and Valucom. He has helped to start or significantly grow a number of non-profits over the past 10 years.

Hayes Morehouse has been the Director of Technology — an amalgam of IT Director, Online Organizer, and Web Developer — at the Ella Baker Center since 2005. Since then, he has transformed the agency's use of technology, making the organization more cohesive and efficient. Before that, he was an IT consultant for non-profits around the Bay Area, working to improve their IT infrastructure as well as helping them to collect, maintain, and use records of their services and impact.
