 ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
 When is the campaign?
The free anti-spam giveaway with software donated by Mailshell is taking place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT) on Wednesday, April 20, 2005.

Orders placed before or after April 20 will not be eligible for the special free offer - so come back to TechSoup Stock and order on April 20.

Who is eligible for the free software?
U.S. public libraries (with 501(c)(3) designation or an FSCS ID) registered with TechSoup Stock before or on April 20, 2005 are eligible to order the free software.

Friends of the Library groups are not eligible to receive free Mailshell software as part of this promotion.

Are Mailshell Gateway products included in the Giveaway?
No. Mailshell Anti-Spam Gateway for Windows and Mailshell Anti-Spam Gateway for Linux are server-level products and are not included in this special desktop offering.

 Who is sponsoring this campaign?
TechSoup, the technology Web site for nonprofits, and Mailshell, an OEM anti-spam software leader.

 REGISTRATION
 Should I register in advance?
Yes. By completing the registration process in advance, you will be able to receive your free software order more quickly on the day of the giveaway. Please note that organizations registering on the day of the event will be subject to a prolonged fulfillment time of up to three weeks while we qualify your organization (see below for more information).

How do I register for TechSoup Stock?
Step 1: Join MyTechSoup. If you are already a MyTechSoup member, log in.

Step 2: Register your organization. Please make sure to write down your organization ID and password, once you have created them. Note: Your organization ID and password are different from your MyTechSoup personal ID and password.

I'm already registered on TechSoup. Do I still need to register on TechSoup Stock?
Yes. Even if you are already registered as an individual on MyTechSoup, you still need to register and qualify your organization on TechSoup Stock. The registration processes are completely separate.

How can I check to see if my organization is already registered on TechSoup Stock?
You can find out whether or not your organization is registered on TechSoup Stock, as well as who is authorized to place orders on the account, by following these steps:
  1. Log in with your TechSoup ID and password, or join TechSoup if you do not already have a TechSoup account.
  2. Click "Register My Organization" in the "Manage My Account" section on the top left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Enter your organization's country, tax ID status, and tax ID number, then click "Continue."
  • If your organization is not listed on the next screen, then your organization has not been fully registered. Fill out the form to complete the registration.
  • If the organization IS listed, select it.
  • If you are taken to a partially filled out registration form, it means the organization is not fully registered. Fill out the form to complete the registration.
  • If you are set up as an authorized agent for the organization's account, you will see the message "This organization/school has already been registered for you. Thank You."
  • If you are presented with a screen that asks you to enter an organization ID and password, click "show authorized agents" to view the names of those who are currently authorized to place orders on the account. Those persons should have the organization ID and password, which you will need to enter in order to become authorized on the account.

How do I become an authorized agent for an organization that has already been registered on TechSoup Stock?
  1. Join MyTechSoup, if you have not already done so. (If you are already a TechSoup member, log in using your personal TechSoup user ID and password and proceed to step #3 below.) To join MyTechSoup, click "Join" in the upper right corner of this page. When the page loads, scroll down to the form entitled "Join MyTechSoup," fill out the requested information, and click the "Join" button. Be sure to make note of your user ID and password, as you will need these to log in again in the future.
  2. Click "Register My Organization" in the "Manage My Account" section on the top left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Enter your organization's country, tax ID status, and tax ID number, and click "Continue."
  4. On the next page, click your organization's name.
  5. Enter the organization ID and password, and your job title.
  6. Click the Authorize button. You will then be returned to a page that says: "You have been authorized to purchase for [your organization name] ...".

What do I do if I don't have my organization ID and password?
If you are unable to obtain the organization ID and password from any of the authorized agent(s) listed under your organization's account, send an e-mail with the following information to info@techsoup.org:

Tax ID#:
Organization Name:
Organization Address:
Your Name:
Your Job Title:
Your E-mail Address:
Your TechSoup user ID:
Note: The organization ID and password are NOT used for logging in. The organization ID and password are needed to set up additional persons in your organization as authorized agents on the organization account. In order to be able to place orders, each person will still need to create a MyTechSoup account for him/herself, and follow the steps for becoming an authorized agent for that organization.

After I register, does my library still need to be "qualified" by TechSoup Stock?
Yes. Once you have registered, TechSoup Stock will confirm your library's eligibility to receive this or any other donation. "Qualification" consists of our verifying that your organization is a U.S. public library that either has 501(c)(3) status or is registered in the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

 ORDERING
If I'm already registered for TechSoup Stock, how do I order free software?
Just come to TechSoup Stock on Wednesday April 20, 2005 between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. PDT (9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT) and place your order. That's it!

Orders placed before or after April 20 will not be eligible for the special free offer, so make sure to come back to TechSoup Stock and order on April 20.

If I pre-registered for the free software, do I still need to order before 5 p.m. PDT (8 p.m. EDT) on April 20?
Yes. You need to return to TechSoup Stock before 5 p.m. PDT (8p.m. EDT) on April 20 to place your order. Because you pre-registered, the qualification process will be much faster and we will be able to expedite the delivery of your order. We will send you an e-mail reminder so you don't forget to come back.

How do I order the free Mailshell Desktop software?
First, register your organization (see FAQ above).

Then, place your order on Wednesday April 20, 2005 between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. PDT (9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT).

 FULFILLMENT
Is there a shipping or handling fee?
No. Thanks to Mailshell, we are able to offer this product absolutely free. That means no administration fee of any kind, including shipping or handling.

How will my free software be delivered?
Once your order has been processed, TechSoup Stock will send an e-mail to your organization's registered e-mail address. The e-mail will include your license information and a link that allows you to download your copy of the software.

When will I receive my free software?
If your library is a current TechSoup Stock customer or is pre-registered and qualified before April 20, you can expect to receive your software within a week of the giveaway. If you register for TechSoup Stock on April 20, it may take up to three weeks to receive your software. The delay is due to the fact that TechSoup Stock conducts a thorough qualification process to ensure that all organizations participating in our donations programs are qualified U.S. public libraries with either a 501(c)(3) designation or a FSCS ID. In addition, we expect to receive a large volume of requests on April 20.
