Qualified commercial and noncommercial computer refurbishers can participate in our RCI program.
Become an RCI Donor
TechSoup Stock is looking for companies willing to participate in our Refurbished Computer Initiative program by donating used computer systems for refurbishing. To join our program, your company must meet the following requirements:
Donate computers that meet the program's minimum configuration standards
Sign a Letter of Agreement that details requirements, expectations, and
deliverables for participation in the program
Minimum Configurations
Desktop computers donated for reuse in this program must meet
or exceed the following configuration:
800MHz Pentium III
256MB of RAM
20GB HD
Internal CD-ROM drive
Ethernet NIC Card
Notebook computers donated to this program must meet or exceed the following
configuration:
800MHz Pentium III
256MB of RAM
20GB internal hard drive
Ethernet NIC Card
Benefits of Program Participation
Donor companies can realize the following benefits from participating in the
RCI program:
Value-added services, including sanitizing hard drives using state-of-the-art
practices to ensure data security, maximum extension of the computer’s
life to benefit the nonprofit community, and proper recycling of any unusable
systems or parts
Convenient disposal of outdated equipment with detailed documentation of
how these donations mitigate environmental and security risks
Reports from TechSoup Stock about the final disposition of the donated
computers
Public visibility, if desired, for being a leader in following best practices
in philanthropy, computer reuse, and recycling
Recycling E-Waste
The RCI program can also accommodate donors looking for a single vendor to
accept e-waste in addition to other computer equipment. Our commercial refurbishing
partner will dispose of the e-waste and direct the usable equipment for donation
to the RCI program.
