Description
The Cisco ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9 Security Appliance provides small and medium-sized companies with gateway security and virtual private network (VPN) connectivity.
The ASA 5505 includes an 8-port Fast Ethernet switch, stateful firewall, support for up to 25 concurrent VPN sessions, Triple Data Encryption Standard Virtual Private Network/Advanced Encryption Standard (3DES/AES) license, 1 expansion slot, and support for unlimited user licenses. It delivers up to 150 Mbps of firewall throughput and 100 Mbps of VPN throughput.
This product includes the Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM), a browser-based management and monitoring interface. This single solution provides comprehensive configuration and monitoring of all the services in a single application and provides wizards to guide administrators through initial and ongoing configuration tasks.
For VPN connections, Cisco Easy VPN Server and Cisco Easy VPN Remote simplify remote configuration and management.
The base appliance supports up to 25 Internet protocol security (IPsec) VPN users and includes 2 secure sockets layer (SSL) VPN user licenses for evaluation and remote management purposes. Support for up to 25 SSL VPN users can be obtained by acquiring a license upgrade pack through TechSoup. Note that the combined number of SSL and IPsec VPN users on this appliance cannot exceed 25. Other appliance upgrades can be acquired through Cisco at regular retail price after the appliance has been delivered.
Product Service and Support: Cisco will provide five years of hardware and software service and support (SMARTnet) for any product obtained through this donation program (Linksys products not included).

Restrictions
- This donation is available only to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation.
- Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
- To be eligible for a Cisco donation, an organization must have an annual budget of no more than $7,500,000 (your organization's most recent total revenue as reported on your IRS 990 or other tax form), have a unique U.S. Employer Identification Number (EIN), and fall within one of the Cisco-approved nonprofit categories listed below.
- An organization may receive no more than one donation of Cisco products per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
- Grants that are donated within three months of a sale are not considered as a donation by the IRS; instead, the IRS considers these products an additional discount to the sale. Therefore, TechSoup Stock donations cannot be given to organizations that have purchased Cisco equipment within the last three months or that plan to purchase Cisco equipment within the next three months. TechSoup Stock donations done in conjunction with a Cisco sale are not allowed.
- Administrative fees for Cisco equipment received by a single organization may total no more than $800 per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) — up to a $10,000 retail value in all.
- An organization must be willing and able to demonstrate that technology is a budgeted line item and must be able to state the amount of such budgeted line item.

- Religious organizations without a secular community designation — A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith. - All Cisco products except Linksys equipment include five years of Cisco SMARTnet service and support on both hardware and software. After that coverage expires, donation recipients are strongly encouraged to renew their SMARTnet service and support agreement annually, for as long as they own the equipment or until that equipment is declared End Of Life (EOL) and no longer supported by Cisco. (PCMCIA and PCI cards alone do not require a SMARTnet contract.)
- Cisco orders may not include non-Cisco item requests. Any non-Cisco items must be ordered separately so they are not subject to the Cisco processing delay.
- Orders may be partially fulfilled: Due to the nature of the network design, product availability, and fiscal year schedules, all product donations are subject to change or delay without notice. Cisco reserves the right to substitute functionally equivalent products for any request or order.
- Cisco products may not be transferred or resold.
