Description
Student with Encarta Premium 2008 is a comprehensive, subject-specific resource designed to help middle- and high-school students complete high-quality homework assignments and projects in less time.
Student with Encarta Premium 2008 is also available to U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofits, Canadian charitable organizations, and Canadian nonprofits.
Student is a suite of learning tools including Microsoft Math, Learning Essentials, Encarta Premium 2008, foreign language tools, and book summaries. Encarta content is updated with automatic downloads that add new information directly into existing articles.
Note:
- Encarta updates and Math online help are available through October 2008.
- Unlike the standalone Microsoft Math, Student does not support calculus or offer the Ink Handwriting Support feature.
Features
- Under the Software Assurance program, customers acquire the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of their coverage.
- Learning Essentials adds tutorials, toolbars, and templates to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to help students create reports and presentations on a variety of subjects and in many languages. Learning Essentials works with the applications in Office XP, 2003, and 2007.
- The Microsoft Math tools help students solve problems and gain a better understanding of mathematical concepts. The primary tool in Microsoft Math is a full-featured scientific calculator with extensive graphing and equation-solving capabilities.
- Students can find information through standard Web search engines, the Encarta encyclopedia, an atlas, and a dictionary. When the student performs a Web search, Student 2006 displays content from the Web and the encyclopedia side by side.
- Encarta Kids provides younger learners, ages 7 to 12, with age-appropriate articles and lively multimedia. It gives them a safer place to explore all kinds of topics.
