Microsoft Direct Donations Program (MSDDP) at TechSoup
Published on July 27, 2011
TechSoup is proud to administer the Microsoft Direct Donations Program (MSDDP) for NPower clients.
The program allows participants to request Microsoft products directly through TechSoup without paying any administrative fees.
While all product media is fulfilled by Microsoft, TechSoup serves as the point of contact for all questions regarding eligibility, product requests, product licenses, and fulfillment.
Please contact msddp@techsoup.org or the local NPower affiliate with any questions regarding this program.
Products
The MSDDP products available through TechSoup are listed on the MSDDP catalog page.
Eligibility and Allotments
Participation in the program is limited exclusively to NPower clients. Organizations that are not NPower clients are not eligible to participate in this program.
All other eligibility and allotment criteria are identical to those in the standard Microsoft Donation Program. Read the Microsoft Direct Donations Program Eligibility Requirements and Restrictions for more information. Organizations with special quantity needs that fall outside of these restrictions should contact TechSoup Client Services for assistance.
Getting Started
To place requests for products in the Microsoft Direct Donation Program:
- The person who will place requests must have a TechSoup user account, and the organization must be registered with TechSoup. For details, see How To Use TechSoup.
- The organization's profile must include a partner affiliate key code (obtained through its NPower affiliate) and responses to a set of basic questions about the organization including its mission, the people it serves, and the nature of its programs. For details on editing a profile, see Manage an organization account in Step Two of How To Use TechSoup.
Learn More About the Microsoft Donation Program
TechSoup encourages organizations to visit our Overview of the Microsoft Donation Program. There you can learn about the quantity of products an organization can request, special rules for software installed by public libraries, and specific procedures to follow for returns. This page also provides an overview of the benefits and rules of the Microsoft Volume Licensing program, through which the donated products are made available, along with links to help you find additional information at both TechSoup and Microsoft. You can also visit the Microsoft Donation Program: Short Tutorials page to view five closed-captioned videos that explain important aspects of the program.
Other Donation Programs at TechSoup
TechSoup's product donation program connects nonprofits and public libraries with technology product donations from more than 40 leading corporate and nonprofit technology partners. These donations are available for low administrative fees.
MSDDP participants who meet the donors' eligibility criteria are welcome to participate in one or more programs offered through TechSoup. MSDDP participants are encouraged to participate in all other Microsoft donation programs at TechSoup for which they meet the stated eligibility criteria. However, products from other Microsoft donation program cannot be included in the same request with MSDDP products.
