Microsoft Software Assurance — Microsoft E-Learning CoursesThis page discusses the Software Assurance benefit Microsoft E-Learning Courses. The box on the right contains links to discussions of all benefits and how to obtain them. The Microsoft Software Assurance e-learning benefit provides access to self-paced, interactive training developed by Microsoft experts. Courses are designed for maximum skills transfer in minimal time. Assessments, hands-on virtual labs, expert advice, and an interactive, nonlinear approach make e-learning an engaging and flexible experience. The Microsoft Web site has a list of courses. This benefit is available to any organization with a volume license agreement that has Software Assurance. It does not matter if some of the specific licenses within the agreement are more than two years old. Also, the organization's agreement does not need to include the product covered by a specific course. Desktop CoursesFor courses about desktop software, the number of desktops on which the e-learning courses can be installed or accessed is limited to the number of desktop software licenses the organization has received through TechSoup. Server CoursesFor courses about server software, the number of users who can access the courses is limited to the number of server software licenses the organization has received through TechSoup. CALs, ECLs, and MLs do not qualify. How to Obtain CoursesFor e-learning benefits, an organization must designate a Software Assurance Benefits Manager. The manager provides an access code to interested employees. The Software Assurance Benefits Manager must have the agreement license and authorization numbers from the TechSoup Stock fulfillment email or the TechSoup Stock Order Status page. This person uses the eOpen site as described in the section titled "Accessing Software Assurance Information and Benefits" of TechSoup Donation Recipients' Guide to the Microsoft eOpen Web Site (3.9-MB PDF). At step 5, the manager clicks the e-learning link to begin activating the benefit; the link will be either E-Learning - Applications or E-Learning - Servers.
