Eligibility and Donor Program Restrictions
Because your organization may not qualify for all TechSoup Stock donation programs, you should check the eligibility requirements for individual programs on our Partner Restrictions page before placing a donation request. Also, be sure to check the Partner Restrictions page for quantity limits on the number of products your organization is allowed to order under each program.
As an example, we've provided a summary of product ordering guidelines for two popular donation programs, Microsoft and Adobe, below.
* Microsoft Donations: Summary of Product Ordering Guidelines
An organization is eligible to make one donation request for Microsoft products each year through TechSoup Stock (e.g., an organization that ordered on 10/1/05 may place a new order on or after 10/1/06). The total products an organization orders in a two-year product allotment period may not exceed six titles, with up to 50 user licenses allowed per title. For example, if on 10/1/05 you ordered 10 licenses of MS Office 2003 and 20 licenses of MS Windows XP, on 10/1/06 you may order up to 40 additional licenses of MS Office 2003 and 30 additional licenses of MS Windows XP, as well as four more Microsoft titles with up to 50 licenses per title.
For server titles, organizations may request one server license per title and up to 50 Client Access Licenses (CALs). An organization ordering Microsoft server software must also buy a client access license (CAL) for each user or device that accesses it. A server license with accompanying CALs together count as two separate titles toward Microsoft's six-title limit.
Since an organization is allowed only one Microsoft order within a 12-month period, it's best to plan ahead to meet all of your organization's needs before the next ordering period (for example, to make sure all your computers are upgraded to Microsoft Office 2003).
** Adobe Donations: Summary of Product Ordering Guidelines
In one fiscal year, an organization may order either four individual Adobe products or one application suite but not both. For example, you may order four copies of Adobe Acrobat Professional; or one copy each of Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver; or any other combination of products, as long as they add up to four.
Unless you want multiple copies of the same product, you'll get a better value by ordering an application suite, especially the Adobe Web bundle, since it offers the most for your money.
Organizations must provide direct services to beneficiaries in one of Adobe's philanthropic focus areas: Creativity in Education or Commitment to Community.
Note that Adobe eligibility guidelines differ somewhat from the former Macromedia program.
