The Microsoft Donated Computer Operating System (DCOS) Program enables nonprofit organizations that receive donated, used computers without Windows operating systems already installed to obtain operating system software and licenses through TechSoup Stock. It was created in response to feedback we received from members of the nonprofit community who expressed a need for full operating systems to outfit their donated machines. p>
Organizations may obtain full versions of Windows XP Home Edition through the DCOS program. p>
This special offering has been generously donated by Microsoft for the benefit of the nonprofit community and is available only through TechSoup Stock. The DCOS Program is a unique offering that is not part of or related to the Microsoft Software Donation Program and does not carry the same limits or restrictions. p>
Eligibility
In order to be eligible to participate in this program, organizations must have received used, donated computers that either came with no Windows operating system installed or were "wiped clean" prior to donation, and the machines must be designated for internal use only. Operating system software and licenses obtained through the DCOS Program may not be installed on "white boxes" (new machines without operating systems already installed). p>
Customers may receive up to 20 user licenses each fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). p>
Eligibility and restrictions for this program are different from other offerings on TechSoup Stock. Please take some time to read the Program FAQ as well as the complete eligibility guidelines and restrictions. p>
