Microsoft is pleased to partner with TechSoup Stock to donate a wide variety of software products to nonprofit organizations and public libraries. Hundreds of professional and enterprise Microsoft products are available. TechSoup Stock charges only a small administrative fee, about 4% of the product's retail value.
Most Microsoft product donations include Software Assurance, a special service that allows recipients free upgrades to future versions of eligible products.
For information on how to register and qualify your organization to receive product donations, see Getting Started at TechSoup Stock.
Eligibility
U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public libraries are eligible for product donations from Microsoft. Organizations must fall within Microsoft's restrictions in order to receive donations.
Microsoft donations for public libraries are intended only for public access computers. For more information, see the Rules and Eligibility section of the Microsoft FAQ.
Donation Requirements
Eligible organizations may request up to six software titles and up to 50 user licenses per title, every two-year period. These items may be requested all together or spread across two requests.
Organizations may make two donation requests within a two-year period. An organization's first request initiates a two-year donation cycle. After the cycle has begun, an organization must wait one full year before making a second request. Subsequent requests may be placed at any time, so long as two years have elapsed since the organization's initial request in that donation cycle. For more information, see the Rules and Eligibility section of the Microsoft FAQ.
Fulfillment Information
Donations are fulfilled using Microsoft Open License. This means that instead of receiving fully packaged products with paper licenses, you will receive your licenses electronically. CD-ROMs or DVD-ROMs of Microsoft product media will be mailed only if requested at check-out. During check-out, you will be asked whether you want the media shipped to your organization free of charge. You should answer "No" only if you already have the installation media and are just requesting more licenses. If you answer "Yes," Microsoft will send your organization a set of installation media.
For information about how to obtain product keys, download or order installation software, and manage benefits such as Software Assurance go to Microsoft Volume Licensing — What It Is and How It Applies to Your Donation.
