Nonprofit Eligibility Requirements and Donor Partner Restrictions

To receive donations through TechSoup, your organization must meet certain requirements specified by our technology partners. To determine if your organization is eligible to participate in a particular program, please review the information below.

TechSoup does not provide donated or discounted products to organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.

Please note that certain programs have request limitations that correspond to TechSoup's fiscal calendar (July 1 to June 30). See what programs are affected.

Acclivity Restrictions

  • Donated products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • One donation may be requested within the lifetime of an organization.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Eligible organizations must have an annual operating budget of $5 million or less.
  • Organizations that already own any Acclivity product are not eligible for this donation.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Acclivity products may not be transferred or resold.

Adobe Restrictions

  • Donated products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals. Discounted rates will be distributed to individuals of qualifying organizations only.
  • Eligible organizations may request access to discounted rates for an unlimited number of individual Creative Cloud memberships and up to four donated standalone products per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $10 million or less are eligible to receive donated Adobe products. Discounted rates for Creative Cloud memberships are available to organizations with operating budgets of any size.
  • Donated products and discounted rates are available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Religious organizations without a secular community designation are not eligible to request donated products. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
  • Donated products will not be made available to fraternities or sororities, Boy Scouts of America, computer refurbishing programs, legislative and political (except voter education) organizations, or advocacy groups.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Adobe for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive products.
  • Organizations may not transfer or resell Adobe products, including through auctions or raffles, either online or in person.

Alpha Software Inc. Restrictions

  • One donation may be requested within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). (Nonprofits needing additional copies may contact Alpha Software directly for special nonprofit discounts.)
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Donated products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Alpha Software products may not be transferred or resold.

Atlas Business Solutions Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • An organization may receive one Staff Manager donation, one Visual Staff Scheduler donation, and one Ultimate Financial Forecaster donation within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). An organization may receive one donated ScheduleBase subscription credit ever.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This software will not be made available to organizations that support political parties or candidates.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Atlas Business Solutions products may not be transferred or resold.

Atomic Training Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30), an organization may request either of the following but not both: up to 100 subscriptions for software training or up to 50 subscriptions for both software and assistive technology training.
  • This donation is available to organizations with operating budgets of any size.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation will not be made available to schools or organizations that provide school-related activities.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Atomic Training products may not be transferred or resold. However, nonprofits whose mission includes workforce development, job skills training, worker retraining, youth empowerment, and the like may assign registration codes to the intended beneficiaries of their programs.

Autodesk Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Organizations may request two donations within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $10 million or less are eligible to receive this donation.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation.
  • This donation will not be made available to the following types of organizations:
    • Non-501(c)(3) public libraries
    • Legislative and political activity organizations
    • Advocacy organizations
    • Employee membership benefit organizations
    • Religious organizations without a secular community designation. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Autodesk for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations cannot request an Autodesk product without approval from the Autodesk Foundation if they have obtained one outside of a donation program within the past three years.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Autodesk reserves the right to terminate the license at any time if
    • Your organization fails to meet the eligibility requirement as determined by and at the sole discretion of Autodesk and its strategic partners
    • Your organization fails to maintain membership with TechSoup or if Autodesk and TechSoup terminates their relationship
    • Your organization transfers or resells, or attempts to transfer or resell, an Autodesk product
  • Autodesk products may not be transferred or resold.

Azavea Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • One donation may be requested within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation is not available to organizations in U.S. territories.
  • Religious organizations without a secular community designation are not eligible to participate in this program. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Azavea products may not be transferred or resold.

BetterWorld Telecom Restrictions

  • Products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Organizations may receive one BetterWorld audio conferencing services product within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Organizations may receive only one BetterVoice Unified Communications product ever.
  • If an organization that receives BetterWorld audio conferencing services does not use the service for 12 consecutive months, its account will be discontinued. Organizations must request the BetterWorld audio conferencing services product from TechSoup and pay the administrative fee again to reactivate a discontinued account.
  • For organizations requesting BetterVoice Unified Communications:
    • Organizations must agree to a minimum two-year service contract with BetterWorld Telecom for at least one seat.
    • Organizations must not have contracts with other telecommunications services providers that would prevent them from exiting their current services.
    • Organizations must provide BetterWorld Telecom with the most recent copies of their bills for all voice and data services so that BetterWorld Telecom may properly assess an organization's needs.
    • Organizations must have adequate networking equipment and network bandwidth to support their telecommunications needs, or they must purchase additional equipment and bandwidth through BetterWorld Telecom. BetterWorld Telecom will determine if an organization has adequate equipment and bandwidth during its needs assessment.
    • Organizations must have adequate wiring in their facilities and either install separate wiring for the BetterWorld Telecom phone system or set up a virtual LAN for phone system traffic.
    • Organizations must be able to troubleshoot their own IT issues, such as those related to internal wiring and networking, and not directly related to the BetterWorld Telecom phone service.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation is not available to organizations in U.S. territories.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to BetterWorld Telecom for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • BetterWorld Telecom products may not be transferred or resold.

Bitdefender Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Organizations may request up to 50 user licenses within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). The licenses can be for one product or divided among several products.
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $1.4 million or less are eligible to receive this donation.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation will not be made available to educational institutions, including K-12 schools, colleges, universities, and trade schools.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Bitdefender products may not be transferred or resold.

Blackbaud Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • An organization may receive one NOZA donation within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). An organization may receive only one eTapestry donation ever.
  • eTapestry donations are not available to organizations already engaged with an eTapestry sales representative. They are not available to current or previous eTapestry subscribers unless the subscription was obtained through TechSoup between April 1, 2012, and April 4, 2013.
  • Organizations requesting NOZA products must agree to the terms of use.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Blackbaud for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Blackbaud products may not be transferred or resold.

Bloomerang Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Only one donation may be requested ever.
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $250,000 or less are eligible to receive this donation.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation is available to all 501(c)(3) organization types.
  • This donation is not available to organizations in U.S. territories.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Bloomerang for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Bloomerang products may not be transferred or resold.

Box.org Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • One donation may be requested within the lifetime of an organization.
  • Donations may not be used to renew existing Box subscriptions.
  • This donation is available to organizations with operating budgets of any size.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation will not be made available to the following types of organizations:
    • Schools, colleges, or trade schools
    • Hospitals, organizations involved with health insurance or group health plans, and related organizations
    • Credit unions
    • Government agencies
    • Loan or credit reporting organizations
    • Employee or membership benefit organizations
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Box.org for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Box.org products may not be transferred or resold.

Brocade Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Up to 10 Brocade donations may be requested within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $20 million or less are eligible to receive this donation.
  • This offer is not available to organizations in U.S. territories.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Religious organizations without a secular community designation are not eligible to participate in this program. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
  • This donation will not be made available to business and professional organizations; mutual organizations; employee or membership benefit organizations; sports, athletic, and social clubs; advocacy groups; or organizations with a primary focus on inner city and community activities, civil rights activities, litigation and legal aid activities, or legislative and political activities.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Brocade for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Brocade products may not be transferred or resold.

Bytes of Learning Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Each qualifying organization may request a single donation within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Donations are available to organizations with annual budgets of $1,000,000 or less.
  • Donations are not available for distribution to:
    • Educational institutions; however, donations are available to schools for the disabled, parent-teacher groups, student housing organizations, student exchange programs, and similar organizations.
    • Advocacy groups except for those explicitly working in human rights; drug, alcohol, and firearm policy; ecology and conservation; racial integration; or population control.
    • Computer refurbishing programs.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Bytes of Learning donated licenses may not be transferred or resold.
  • Organizations must represent and warrant that they are willing to provide information to Bytes of Learning for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this product.

Caspio Restrictions

  • Products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Each eligible organization may receive access to discounted rates for the Caspio Standard Plan once in the organization's lifetime.
  • This donation is available to organizations with operating budgets of any size.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation is available to all 501(c)(3) organization types.
  • This donation is not available to current Caspio subscribers unless the subscription was obtained through TechSoup.
  • Recipient organizations must agree to Caspio's terms of service.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Caspio for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Caspio products may not be transferred or resold.

CauseVox Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Organizations may request only one CauseVox donation ever.
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $5 million or less are eligible to receive this donation.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation is available to all organization types.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to CauseVox for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • CauseVox products may not be transferred or resold.

Cisco Restrictions

  • Quantity: Organizations may place one request for a total of up to $1,500 in administrative fees per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). TechSoup will cancel requests that exceed this limit.
  • Budget: Organizations with total revenue of $10 million or less are eligible for products in this program.
  • Nonprofits only:
    • Products in this program are available only to qualifying nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation.
    • All Cisco requests are subject to a secondary eligibility review to verify that the organization meets Cisco's philanthropy guidelines. If an organization does not meet these guidelines, Cisco reserves the right to deny a donation request at any time. TechSoup will not process payments for denied requests and will return submitted checks to the organization.
  • Organization types:
    • Eligible: The following organization types are eligible to request products in this program.
      • Organizations that supply money, goods, or services to the poor
      • Job training, counseling, or assistance organizations
      • Organizations that provide rehabilitation to convicts, ex-convicts, alcoholics, drug abusers, or compulsive gamblers
      • Remedial reading and encouragement organizations
      • Low-income housing assistance organizations
      • Health clinics, rural medical facilities, hospices, blood banks
      • Mental health care organizations
      • Organizations that provide aid to persons with disabilities
      • Certain community service organizations that mainly serve the poor
      • Organizations that provide care and housing of children, work to prevent cruelty to children, and combat juvenile delinquency
    • Ineligible: The following organization types are not eligible to request products in this program.
      • Affiliates of a national organization, including the YMCA, Goodwill Industries, and the American Red Cross, that has more than 20 locations, even if those affiliates are considered separate entities and are not funded by the national organization
      • Religious organizations without a secular community designation. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
      • Foundations, lending organizations, grantmaking organizations, or organizations that provide scholarships or other funding to individuals and other organizations
      • Sports, athletic, recreational, and social activity organizations
      • Youth service organizations, except those that provide basic human needs
      • Camps
      • Non-direct service organizations or referral services
      • Schools, colleges, and related organizations
      • Cultural, historical, and other educational activity organizations
      • Organizations that provide care and housing for the aged, even if previously eligible
      • Publishing, radio and television, film production, discussion, non-scientific study and research, and information giving and opinion organizations
      • Hospitals, fire departments, nursing homes, and ambulatory services
      • Day care centers or child care activities
      • Conservation, environmental, and beautification activity organizations
      • Scientific research organizations
      • Business and professional organizations
      • Farming and related activity organizations
      • Mutual organizations
      • Employee membership benefit organizations
      • Litigation and legal aid organizations
      • Legislative and political activity organizations
      • Civil rights organizations
      • Credit counseling services or financial education
      • Advocacy organizations, including Planned Parenthood organizations
      • Libraries
  • Existing customers: Organizations that have purchased Cisco products within the last three months or that plan to purchase Cisco products in the next three months are not eligible for products in this program.
  • Substitutions: Cisco may substitute functionally equivalent products in a request.
  • Territories: Organizations in U.S. territories may not request products in this program.
  • Terms of service: Organizations that request Cisco products must agree to any applicable terms of service.
  • Cisco products only: Cisco requests may not include non-Cisco products. Organizations must request products from other programs separately so they are not subject to the Cisco processing delay.
  • Anti-discrimination policy: Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive products in this program.
  • Case study: Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Cisco for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Product distribution:
    • Products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
    • Recipient organizations may not transfer or resell Cisco products.

Citrix Restrictions

  • Products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • Each eligible organization may receive access to discounted rates for all of the following:
    • One discounted GoToAssist Remote Support subscription
    • One discounted GoToAssist Service Desk subscription
    • One discounted ShareFile subscription
    • An unlimited number of discounted GoToMeeting subscriptions
    • An unlimited number of discounted GoToMyPC subscriptions
    • An unlimited number of discounted GoToTraining subscriptions
    • An unlimited number of discounted GoToWebinar subscriptions
  • These limits apply to the lifetime of the organization, not to a fiscal year.
  • These offers may not be used to renew existing Citrix subscriptions.
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $5 million or less are eligible to receive GoToMeeting, GoToMyPC, and GoToTraining. Organizations with annual operating budgets of $10 million or less are eligible to receive GoToWebinar, GoToAssist Remote Support, GoToAssist Service Desk, and ShareFile.
  • This offer is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This offer will not be made available to mutual organizations, employee or membership benefit organizations, organizations that support political parties or candidates, advocacy groups, booster clubs, and some other organizations.

TechSoup Boost Restrictions

  • Quantity: Organizations may request one subscription per year. It is valid for one year from the date you request it.
  • Budget:
    • Organizations with annual operating budgets of $500,000 or less are eligible for the Boost for Small Organizations subscription.
    • Organizations with annual operating budgets of more than $500,000 and less than $2 million are eligible for the Boost for Midsize Organizations subscription.
    • Organizations with annual operating budgets of more than $2 million are eligible for the Boost for Large Organizations subscription.
