Visual Studio 2010 Test Professional is an integrated testing toolset for individuals and teams who test applications that operate on Microsoft Windows, in Microsoft Office, or on Microsoft's web and mobile-device platforms.
Visual Studio Test Professional requires an active Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 instance to link to in order to run. A copy of Team Foundation Server 2010 and a Team Foundation Server user client access license (CAL) is included with the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscription that accompanies this product.
Visual Studio Test Professional includes the Microsoft Test Manager tool, which provides a graphic interface for manual testing that walks users through test steps while collecting important information to include in bugs that can be filed directly from the test interface.
Visual Studio Test Professional 2010 does not feature an integrated development environment for building applications.

To activate the MSDN subscription, you must perform an additional step while retrieving your license keys from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center website. To activate an MSDN subscription, click Subscriptions in the VLSC menu bar and follow the MSDN link to enter information about the subscribing user. When the process is complete, the user will receive an email with a subscriber ID and directions to the MSDN website.
