QuickBooks Made Easy for Nonprofits: The Essentials is DVD-ROM-based training that demonstrates how to set up books correctly, enter transactions common to nonprofits, and create nonprofit-specific reports. These tasks can be done with all 2016 and earlier versions of QuickBooks for Windows and Mac.

This product includes a DVD-ROM with about five hours of video lessons. It also includes a printed follow-along handbook that can be used with the video lessons or separately. It does not include a copy of QuickBooks.

License Information

The DVD-ROM can be used by anyone in the organization. However, it must be installed on the trainee's computer and can only be used by one person at a time.


QuickBooks Made Easy includes a 30-day option to obtain a phone support plan for $199. Support plans last for a period of one year and include an unlimited number of phone calls. You will be assigned a U.S.-based QuickBooks expert. These experts are trained on transactions specific to nonprofits and understand their unique tracking and reporting needs.

Obtaining This Product

When your request has been approved, your product will be shipped from the TechSoup warehouse. This product can only be shipped to physical addresses, not PO Boxes.

    • 800 x 600-pixel (or higher) display
    • Sound card and speakers or headphones
  • Software:
    • For Windows computers: Windows 2000 or later
    • For Mac computers: Mac OS X v10.5 or later

Rules, Eligibility and Restrictions

  • Quantity: Organizations may request one product per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Budget: Organizations with annual operating budgets up to $2 million are eligible for products in this program.
  • Nonprofits and libraries only: Products in this program are available only to qualifying nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Organization types: All organization types are eligible for products in this program.
  • Terms of service: Organizations that request QuickBooks Made Easy products must agree to any applicable terms of service.
  • Copyright: Intuit and QuickBooks, among others, are registered trademarks or registered service marks of Intuit Inc. in the United States and other countries.
  • Anti-discrimination policy: Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive products in this program.
  • Case study: Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to QuickBooks Made Easy for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Product distribution:
    • Products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
    • Recipient organizations may not transfer or resell QuickBooks Made Easy products.
