Description

Computer

This refurbished computer is well-suited for running standard office applications. It includes the 32-bit version of the Windows 7 Professional operating system, the Microsoft Office 2007 Basic office suite, and Norton AntiVirus 2012, all preinstalled. The keyboard and mouse are new, not refurbished.

Software Included

This version of Windows 7 will not run 64-bit software applications.

Office 2007 Basic includes Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Symantec has also donated Norton AntiVirus 2012 to be included with this product. Activation of Norton AntiVirus requires a license key, which will be emailed when your request has been approved. Additional instructions for activating your preinstalled security software will be included with your computer shipment.

Restoration Options

The operating system, Office 2007 Basic, and Norton AntiVirus 2012 are preinstalled by the refurbisher. The refurbisher provides restoration files for Windows, Office, and Norton AntiVirus in a partition of the hard disk. You can access this partition by following a special system recovery process upon booting up your computer. More detailed instructions will be provided by our refurbishing partner with your computer shipment. (Microsoft and Symantec do not allow installation or restoration discs to be distributed with this product.)

Monitor

This refurbished flat-panel LCD (liquid-crystal display) color monitor has a 17-inch display (measured diagonally) and a standard 4:3 width-to-height ratio.

Product Condition

This equipment is classified as Condition A, meaning that it meets the highest functional and cosmetic standards of refurbished equipment.

Mid-Tier

This is a mid-tier computer, which means it is equipped to support tasks like basic image editing and creating presentations. Mid-tier computers have average processor speeds and storage capacities and are well-suited for multi-tasking.

Warranty

The computer and monitor are covered by a 90-day warranty from the refurbisher.

Obtaining This Product

When your donation request has been approved, TechSoup will send a message to your organization email address. Please read this message: it contains important information.

Within 10 business days after your donation request has been approved, our refurbisher partner will ship your equipment via ground. After that, it may take up to five days (seven days for Alaska or Hawaii) to receive your equipment.

System Requirements

Rules, Eligibility and Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed only to qualifying organizations, not individuals.
  • This donation is available to U.S. nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to U.S. public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • This donation is not available to organizations in U.S. territories.
  • Each eligible 501(c)(3) organization or public library may request any number of products within a fiscal year — July 1 to June 30. However, each request may include no more than 10 of any individual product requested.
  • To be eligible to receive computers, an organization must have a nonreligious purpose or be a religious organization with a secular community designation.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • TechSoup's refurbisher partner will supply computer recipients with an electronic copy of the Microsoft Registered Refurbisher Program's Eligible Recipient Agreement. Each recipient organization must accept this agreement when first starting each computer.
  • Each organization must agree to participate in customer surveys and a case study, if asked.
  • Each organization must agree to provide information on how the products will be used and what operational and mission impact the products are expected to provide.
  • Each organization must agree to provide specific feedback on the program's overall process, any problems or concerns, and possible improvements.
