Adobe Contribute CS5 is a web authoring and blogging application that supports web publishing by a wide variety of people within an organization. The simple browse-and-edit interface lets users edit pages directly or publish content from Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint without using HTML or programming tools. Pages can also be edited within a web browser without having to open another application.

Users can embed PDF documents directly on a web page or add rich media, images, movies, and Flash video by dragging the file to the web page or blog entry. More advanced users can edit XML file content without opening an XML editor or add HTML snippets to an individual web page or blog post.

The software can store as many as 99 versions of a web page on a central web server, allowing anyone in the organization to undo changes to a web page by "rolling back" to a previous version. Features for working offline and storing local draft versions prevent losing content changes due to dropped Internet connections.

Each organization defines its own publishing permissions, establishing which users can publish web pages or blog entries and which can only edit and send pages and entries to others for review and approval.

Content updates created with Contribute CS5 can be published using any standard file transfer, web authoring, or blogging protocol, including FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, MetaWeblog, and Atom. Contribute CS5 can be used with dynamic websites powered by Movable Type, TypePad, and WordPress.

Adobe estimates download times will range from about 2 minutes for T3 connections to about 12.5 hours for 128-Kbps connections. Download time can be affected by factors such as Internet traffic at the time of download and local LAN configuration and congestion.

When your donation request has been approved, TechSoup will send a message to your organization email address with instructions for obtaining and activating this product.

• Donated products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
• Eligible organizations may request up to a total of four individual applications or one suite application per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
• Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $10 million or less are eligible to receive this donation.
• This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
• Organizations in U.S. territories may receive products through download, but not physically on a DVD-ROM.
• Organizations that require physical media for a suite application may also request one media-only suite product at the same time or within six months of requesting the ESD product. Media-only suite products do not include licenses and cannot be requested by organizations who have not requested the corresponding ESD product.
• Religious organizations without a secular community designation are not eligible to participate in this program. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
• Donated products will not be made available to fraternities or sororities, Boy Scouts of America, computer refurbishing programs, legislative and political (except voter education) organizations, or advocacy groups.
• Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Adobe for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
• Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
• Adobe products may not be transferred or resold.
• Adobe products may not be used for raffles, door prizes, or any other fundraising activities or individual awards.
