The AIR-AP1141N-A-K9 is one of the Aironet 1140 Series of WiFi-certified 802.11n wireless access points. This single-band, 2.4-GHz access point with built-in antennas provides high-capacity, high-security, enterprise-class features in an unobtrusive, office-class design.
Benefits for Organizations
Organizations can use a wireless access point to grant network access to staff and guests without using a wired network connection.
Additional Equipment Required
The product requires the AIR-PWR-B power supply for connection to local power, the AIR-PWRINJ4 power injector for power over Ethernet, or another inline power source.
The AIR-CONCAB1200 console cable is required for connection to the console port. The access point can be configured using the console port when there is no Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server in the network or when there is no wired connection between the access point and the LAN.
Major Capabilities
- The 802.11n standard provides at least six times the throughput of 802.11a/g networks. The access point is backward compatible with 802.11a/b/g clients and can be used in regulatory domains that do not allow 802.11a/5-GHz operation.
- Automated self-healing optimizes the unpredictability of radio frequency (RF) radiation to reduce dead spots and help ensure high-availability client connections
- The access point is IEEE 802.11i- and 802.11x-compliant, WPA2-certified and WPA-certified. It also supports Advanced Encryption Standards (AES) and Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP).
- Setup and deployment is managed through web-based tools and the Cisco IOS command-line interface.
- Management frame protection detects malicious users and alerts network administrators.
