Description

This Cisco 880 Series Advanced IP Services License (part number SL-880-AIS=) can be used to upgrade the security capabilities of certain 880 Series routers.

Supported Devices

This license can be used with the following Cisco 880 Series routers:

  • Cisco 880 Series Wireless Ethernet Security Router (part number C881W-A-K9 or CISCO881W-GN-A-K9)
  • Cisco 880 Series Router for xDSL over ISDN (part number CISCO886VA-K9)
  • Cisco 880 Series Router for xDSL over POTS (part number CISCO887VA-K9)

Major Capabilities

The upgrade includes support for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), allowing for:

  • IPv6 multicast
  • IPv6 addressing architecture
  • IPv6 name resolution
  • IPv6 statistics
  • IPv6 translation
  • IPv6 DHCP
  • IPsec over IPv6 connections

Support

Cisco will provide five years of hardware and software service and support ("SMARTnet") for this product.

Obtaining Your Licenses

TechSoup might request additional information to verify that your organization matches the Cisco philanthropy guidelines. When your request has been approved, you will receive a product authorization key (PAK) through standard mail within eight weeks. You will be directed to enter this key and your router serial number on the Cisco website, which will provide you with an activation key. Entering this key through your router's command-line interface will activate your licenses.

Rules, Eligibility and Restrictions

  • Quantity: Organizations may place one request for a total of up to $3,000 in administrative fees per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Budget: Organizations with annual operating budgets of $10 million or less are eligible for products in this program.
  • Nonprofits only: Products in this program are available only to qualifying nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation.
  • Organization types: The following organization types are not eligible to request products in this program.
    • Foundations
    • Schools, colleges, and related organizations, except remedial reading and encouragement organizations
    • Cultural, historical, and other educational activity organizations
    • Publishing, radio and television, film production, discussion, non-scientific study and research, and information giving and opinion, and Goodwill Industries organizations
    • Certain health services organizations
    • Scientific research organizations
    • Business and professional organizations
    • Farming and related activity organizations
    • Mutual organizations
    • Employee membership benefit organizations
    • Sports, athletic, recreational, and social activity organizations
    • Youth organizations, except care and housing of children, prevention of cruelty to children, and organizations that combat juvenile delinquency
    • Conservation, environmental, and beautification activity organizations
    • Housing activity organizations, except low-income housing organizations
    • Inner city or community activity organizations, except community service organizations
    • Civil rights organizations
    • Litigation and legal aid organizations
    • Legislative and political activity organizations
    • Advocacy organizations
    • Organizations with missions directed to individuals, except organizations that supply money, goods, or services to the poor; job training, counseling, or assistance; and rehabilitation organizations
    • Affiliates of a national organization, such as the YMCA and the American Red Cross, that has more than 20 locations, even if those affiliates are considered separate entities and are not funded by the national organization
    • Non-501(c)(3) libraries
    • Religious organizations without a secular community designation. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
  • Existing customers: Organizations that have purchased Cisco products within the last three months or that plan to purchase Cisco products in the next three months are not eligible for products in this program.
  • Substitutions: Cisco may substitute functionally equivalent products in a request.
  • Territories: Organizations in U.S. territories may not request products in this program.
  • Terms of service: Organizations that request Cisco products must agree to any applicable terms of service.
  • Cisco products only: Cisco requests may not include non-Cisco products. Organizations must request products from other programs separately so they are not subject to the Cisco processing delay.
  • Anti-discrimination policy: Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive products in this program.
  • Case study: Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Cisco for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Product distribution:
    • Products will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
    • Recipient organizations may not transfer or resell Cisco products.
