A subscription to the cloud-based Caspio database provides access to browser-based tools for creating both databases and web interfaces to them. Caspio hosts the databases on its robust platform and servers. This subscription is intended for IT professionals and for others comfortable with software and web applications.

This donation of the Caspio Small Plan allows one year of access for one person to author DataPages and any number of people to use them. It allows unlimited DataPages to be deployed to any website, unlimited data storage, unlimited emails, and up to 250 MB per month of data transfer (about 20,000 submissions).

Major Capabilities

• Database tables: You can create databases either from scratch or by importing existing data. Sources include Microsoft Access and Excel, comma-separated values, fixed-width text, and delimited text files. Wizards to guide you through the steps needed to create database tables.
• DataPages: You can create database-driven forms, reports, charts, and searches called DataPages. Wizards guide you through both creation and customizing the look and feel. You will typically deploy DataPages by embedding JavaScript code generated by Caspio into your own web pages. However, Caspio can also host them and let you link to them.
• Database applications: You can create larger database applications that make use of several DataPages. (Caspio uses the term "app" to describe these applications as well as individual DataPages.) Caspio's app-building wizards walk you through creation of customized web applications that can be configured with various interfaces.
• Security and scalability: Caspio's online database platform gives you security and scalability through clustered databases, firewalls, and load-balanced web servers. Your data is backed up daily. Caspio's security and reliability standards include SSL, SAS 70, PCI compliance, Section 508 accessibility, and TRUSTe certification.

Support

Caspio's support is based in the United States and can be contacted through a staff-monitored discussion forum but not through phone or live chat. There is also an extensive library of videos and online help available to walk users through all product features.

Additional Services and Fees

To complete the process, you must enter the credit card that would be billed for additional services. This is an authorization for charges that will be paid directly to Caspio and not to TechSoup. If you do not use additional services, you will not be billed.

Free Trial

Organizations that have participated in the free trial for Caspio can request this product to activate their trial version.

Continuing Services After One Year

At the end of the year of this subscription, organizations can request another donation through TechSoup. They can also choose to switch to a paid upgraded account with a 20 percent discount or simply cancel the account.

Other Nonprofit and Educational Offers from Caspio

Organizations that would prefer a Caspio plan other than Small, or that are not eligible for this donation, can go to the Caspio website to request a 20 percent discount.

You will need to take further action to obtain this product after your donation request has been approved. TechSoup will send instructions to your organization email address.

• This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
• This donation is not available to current Caspio subscribers unless the subscription was obtained through TechSoup.
• Recipient organizations must agree to Caspio's terms of service.
• Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Caspio for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
• Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
