This offer gives nonprofit organizations and public libraries access to discounted pricing for BetterWorld's audio conferencing services, allowing organizations to collaborate on the phone using their existing phone systems.
BetterWorld's offer through TechSoup provides audio conferencing for an unlimited number of participants within the United States and Canada for the discounted rate of 2.75 cents per minute per participant. Only the organization is charged: participants connect to the audio conference through a toll-free 800 number. International callers outside the United States and Canada can also participate in audio conferences, but the organization must pay surcharges based on each participant's location. See a list of international rates.
Reservations are not required, but meetings with more than 125 participants require confirmation of service availability. The conference chairperson schedules and manages the conference by phone. See a user guide and full list of audio conferencing features.
TechSoup considers this BetterWorld offering a GreenTech product because it allows employees to work remotely but access services typically available from the office, therefore reducing travel, office space, and hardware requirements and minimizing an organization's environmental footprint.
Requesting and Paying for BetterWorld Services
This TechSoup offer facilitates organizations' access to discounted rates, but organizations pay BetterWorld directly for the audio conferencing services. BetterWorld will contact each organization that participates in this offer to confirm the service request.
BetterWorld audio conferencing is a pay-as-you-go service with no setup fees. BetterWorld will require each organization to provide a credit card that will be billed for the audio conferencing services, but organizations are not charged unless they use the service. Each invoice will include a $3.99 e-bill charge, a $2.97 regulatory cost recovery fee, and required local and federal taxes.
Organizations must agree to BetterWorld's terms and conditions. For full eligibility details, see the Rules, Eligibility and Restrictions.
Note that if an organization does not use the service for 12 consecutive months, the organization's account will be discontinued. To reactivate a discontinued account, an organization must request this product and pay the administrative fee again.
Additional Discounts for Certain California Organizations
If you are a public library, school, or community-based organization located in California, you may qualify for an additional 50% discount on BetterWorld telecommunications services through the California Teleconnect Fund Program. See this website for more information.
The administrative fee for this product is not refundable, and the product cannot be exchanged.
