More informations about this product

Description

BetterWorld Audio Conferencing Services allow organizations to collaborate on the phone using their existing phone systems.

This offer provides audio conferencing for an unlimited number of participants within the United States and Canada for the discounted rate of 2.5 cents per minute per participant. This TechSoup offer facilitates your access to discounted rates, but you will pay BetterWorld directly for the discounted services. See the Details and Service Costs tab for more information.

Benefits for Organizations

You can use BetterWorld Audio Conferencing Services to:

  • Host conferences with up to 125 participants
  • Add security to conferences by requiring passwords and preventing additional participants from joining
  • Brand conferences with your organization's custom script and announcements

Reservations are not required, but meetings with more than 125 participants require confirmation of service availability. The conference chairperson schedules and manages the conference by phone.

Major Capabilities

  • Participant entry options: You can allow participants to join a conference directly or hear hold music until the conference begins.
  • Name announcements: The operator announces each participant's name as they join the conference.
  • Email/fax confirmation: The conference system can confirm with the contact after he or she makes a reservation.
  • Muting: Participants can mute and unmute their lines, and leaders can mute and unmute the entire group.
  • Polling: Leaders can survey participants by asking predetermined questions, which participants may answer by voting with a specific number on the telephone keypad. The leader receives the results after the call.

Details and Service Costs

Hardware and Phone Connectivity Required

To use this service, your organization needs a telephone and an existing line.

Discounted Rates

BetterWorld audio conferencing is a pay-as-you-go service with no setup fees. The discounted rate is 2.5 cents per minute per participant. Each invoice will include a $3.99 e-bill charge, a $2.97 regulatory cost recovery fee, and required local and federal taxes.

BetterWorld only charges your organization; participants connect to the audio conference through a toll-free 800 number. International callers outside the United States and Canada can also participate in audio conferences, but the organization must pay surcharges based on each participant's location. See a list of international rates.

Service Contract Required

Organizations must agree to BetterWorld's terms and conditions.

Continuing Service After One Year

You may renew your subscription by requesting another product through TechSoup each year before the subscription expires.

If your organization does not use the service for 12 consecutive months, BetterWorld will discontinue the account. To reactivate a discontinued account, your organization must request this product and pay the administrative fee again.

Credit Card Required

BetterWorld requires each organization to provide a credit card to bill for the audio conferencing services, but organizations are not charged unless they use the service.

Additional Discounts for Certain California Organizations

If you are a public library, school, or community-based organization located in California, you may qualify for an additional 50 percent discount on BetterWorld telecommunications services through the California Teleconnect Fund Program. See this website for more information.

Rules, Eligibility and Restrictions
