This donation provides nonprofit organizations, schools, and libraries with one 4G device for connecting computers or WiFi-enabled consumer electronics like smartphones to Mobile Beacon's 4G mobile broadband Internet service. The 4G device can be used at any location within the Mobile Beacon coverage area. Mobile Beacon Internet service is not included with this donation, but is available for purchase at the current nonprofit pricing of $120 for 12 months ($10 per month, paid annually in advance).

Benefits for Organizations

Mobile Beacon's Internet service could be helpful if your organization:

• Lacks traditional Internet access or has slow access or bandwidth constraints
• Needs a back-up Internet source
• Has Internet service but needs to provide users with Internet access remotely or while traveling

Choice of 4G Device

Organizations can choose one of three donated Mobile Beacon 4G devices, depending on their needs.

• CLEAR Stick Atlas: A portable USB modem for connecting one computer or tablet PC to Mobile Beacon's 4G mobile broadband Internet service.
• CLEAR Spot 4G (Voyager): A portable, wireless hotspot for connecting up to eight WiFi-enabled computers or consumer electronics to Mobile Beacon's 4G mobile broadband Internet service. The hotspot supports WiFi-enabled consumer electronics like tablet PCs, digital cameras, smartphones, printers, and Apple iOS devices.
• CLEAR Modem with Wi-Fi: A stationary modem with an integrated WiFi router for providing local networking and access to Mobile Beacon's 4G mobile broadband Internet service. It can wirelessly connect up to 10 computers or WiFi-enabled consumer electronics such as tablet PCs, digital cameras, smartphones, printers, or Apple iOS devices. It can also be connected to another wired or wireless router with the included Ethernet cable. Such a setup provides additional computers or consumer electronics with Internet access.

You choose the device when you sign up on the Mobile Beacon website after your donation request has been approved.

Note: WiMAX-enabled devices can connect to Mobile Beacon's 4G service without a 4G device, but a service agreement is still required.

One-Year Prepaid Service Agreement Required

Organizations that participate in this offer must agree to pay Mobile Beacon in advance for one year of 4G mobile broadband Internet service. The current nonprofit pricing for this service is $120 for 12 months ($10 per month, paid annually in advance). TechSoup is not a party to this agreement. Refunds for the service must be requested directly from Mobile Beacon within 30 days of receiving it. See Mobile Beacon's terms of service.

Mobile Beacon Internet Service

The 4G wireless broadband service offered by Mobile Beacon uses the same network as the 4G services offered by many telecommunications companies. Its download speeds average 3 to 6 megabits per second.

Verifying Coverage

Organizations must confirm that the location where they will use the Mobile Beacon service falls within the Mobile Beacon 4G coverage area before requesting this offer.

Additional Devices Available at Standard Rates

Organizations can purchase additional 4G devices directly from Mobile Beacon when applying for Mobile Beacon's services. Mobile Beacon will provide free consultation to help organizations determine the best devices for their needs.

The administrative fee for this product is not refundable, and the product cannot be exchanged.

• Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
• One donation may be requested within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
• This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and to public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
• This donation is not available to organizations in U.S. territories.
• Organizations must agree to pay Mobile Beacon for one year of 4G mobile broadband Internet service at the current nonprofit pricing of $120 ($10 per month for 12 months, paid annually in advance). TechSoup is not a party to this agreement.
• Mobile Beacon 4G devices can only be used within the Mobile Beacon 4G coverage area.
• Organizations that have existing business relationships with CLEAR are not eligible to participate in this program. Current Mobile Beacon customers are eligible.
• Recipient organizations must agree to Mobile Beacon's terms of service.
• This donation will not be made available to fraternities or sororities, health insurance organizations, certain business or professional organizations, mutual organizations, employee or membership benefit organizations, sports or athletic organizations, homeowners associations, advocacy groups, and some other organizations.
• Religious organizations without a secular community designation are not eligible to participate in this program. A secular designation is defined as an organization separate from the church or religious organization that provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not propagate a belief in a specific faith.
• Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
• Mobile Beacon products may not be transferred or resold.
