About the Project
Project Overview
TechSoup Global (formerly CompuMentor), supported by a grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, provides technical assistance to Mott grantees to help them comply with the list-checking requirements resulting from the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act. TechSoup Global is a nonprofit technology assistance provider with 20 years of experience bringing reliable, high-quality services and donations to the nonprofit sector.
As an organization that currently re-grants Mott funds or is considering re-granting Mott funds in the future, you are eligible for technical assistance from TechSoup Global. The Mott Foundation and TechSoup Global are committed to providing you the highest quality technical assistance and support throughout this project.
Project Activities
As a part of this project, grantees will receive a variety of technical assistance including recommendations for applications to help you list-check, training in using those applications, direct assistance if you conduct your list-checking outside the United States, information resources, and answers to your email questions. A recorded webinar outlines resources available to Mott grantees to help you fulfill the list-checking requirement. Once on the site, click on the link "click here to see the recording."
Recommendations for Applications to Help you List-check
Our tech-savvy staff members have researched the field of applications that check the Mott-required OFAC-SDN list and recommend three applications that are low-cost, easy to use, and fulfill Mott’s documentation requirements. Choose one of these applications to facilitate checking the Organization Name, Organization Contact, and Project Contact for the organizations to which you will re-grant Mott funds.
Training
Online training on the use of your chosen list-checking application will help you understand Mott’s requirements as well as how to use each application to document those requirements.
The training provides the tools necessary to ensure that your management team understands and can support the technology and human infrastructure necessary to complete common business tasks such as data tracking and security. In addition, the training provides tactical support to the individuals responsible for implementing list-checking within your organization.
The training will be offered on an individual basis and is available to any Mott grantee who needs help implementing this requirement of the Mott Foundation.

About the Providers
Charles Stewart Mott Foundation
The mission of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation is to support efforts that promote a just, equitable and sustainable society. Through its four programs, and their more specific program areas, the Foundation seeks to fulfill its mission of supporting efforts that promote a just, equitable and sustainable society.
Inherent in all grantmaking is the desire to enhance the capacity of individuals, families or institutions at the local level and beyond. The Foundation hopes that its collective work in any program area could lead toward systematic change.
Mott provides help to grantees who re-grant Mott funds through the foundation's grantee resources, especially the section on the USA PATRIOT Act, through phone calls or e-mails with your program officer, or through email to Mary Gailbreath.
