Looking for a way to better take advantage of the online communication tools out there? Check out the the Tech-Savvy Communications toolkit, which was released by NPower Seattle, an organization that helps nonprofits in Washington's Puget Sound area use technology to serve their communities.

In the Tech-Savvy Communications toolkit, which you can download for free below, you'll find an overview of how to develop an effective message for your nonprofit, as well as a survey of communication tools (such as RSS feeds, blogs, and podcasts) you can use to deliver that message. You can request a CD version of the toolkit by emailing Peg Giffels, NPower Seattle's Community Partnerships Manager.

NPower Seattle has additionally created the following companion resources, which you can find online and in the CD version of the toolkit:

  • Worksheets to help you get started on your own communications plan, including “It’s Your Turn” exercises, a message framework, and a work-plan template.
  • Tech-Savvy Tips, including guides to online politics, advice on what makes a good blog, a communication channels chart, and much more.
  • A Communications Resource list, which offers selected resources on communications and technology assistance for nonprofits.

Once you've downloaded the toolkit, please take a moment to complete this anonymous survey to let NPower know how the materials have helped your organization or could be improved.
