VirtualBox is a full-featured virtualizer for both desktop and server use. Configuration settings for virtual machines are stored in XML format and can be easily transferred between computers. VirtualBox is highly extensible and features an SDK for adding functionality.
VirtualBox comes in two editions, an open-source edition that is free to use, and an enterprise edition with advanced features that is also free for personal and evaluation purposes. See the VirtualBox wiki for more details on the two versions.
