Nancy Kirk is executive director of The Tri-Faith Initiative in Omaha, a unique partnership of Temple Israel, the Episcopal Diocese of Omaha and the American Institute of Islamic Studies and Culture planning a development with a synagogue, a church, a mosque and an interfaith center on adjacent properties. She returned to non-profit work after a 23 year break to run her own business while her children grew up. Earlier she was a non-profit executive in the arts world for more than 15 years and held a CFRE designation. “The basics of fund-raising are still the same,” she says, “but the tools available for communication, record keeping and analysis that harness the power of computers and the internet make a huge difference today.” Nancy holds an M.A. in arts management from the University of Illinois and a B.A. from Antioch College.
