Webinar Description

Join Microsoft and TechSoup for a webinar to show off the latest features in the new Windows operating system. In addition, get help deciding whether Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 is right for your organization, since Windows XP support will be retiring in a few short months.

Todd Rutherford of Microsoft will conduct a live, on-screen demo of the product for office use. Ginny Mies from Techsoup will talk about some of the new features released with the 8.1 upgrade, as well as walk through some comparisons between Windows 7 and 8.1 to help you determine which is right for your organization's needs.

Speaker Information

Todd Rutherford is Microsoft's Senior Product Marketing Manager for Windows focusing on entertainment technology, consumer scenarios, and product demonstration.

Todd says, "PCs play a critical role in nearly every person’s life. From creating a job resume to playing games or passing time watching funny videos, PCs should be fun and easy to use and do the things that delight and empower the user. My job is to transform the way we think, talk, and demonstrate Windows to be more about the specific ways in which this amazing device is experienced, and less about the technology and feature names that make it possible."

Ginny Mies is a content curator at TechSoup. Before coming to TechSoup, Ginny was a Senior Editor for PCWorld. She covered mobile phones as well as consumer advocacy issues for both the website and print magazine. She's currently in the home stretch of the Master of Library and Information Science program at San Jose State University.
