They’ve recently created the Social Media Decision Guide, in partnership with the New Organizing Institute, which walks you through a step-by-step process to decide what social media channels make sense for your organization via a workbook, guide, and the results of more than six months of research.

We also hear from Tex Dworkin, Social Media Director at Global Exchange. She shares the story of how social media was introduced to her nonprofit, and the steps and challenges that followed.

Speaker Information 

Laura Quinn has been working in the software sector for more than 12 years. As Idealware’s Executive Director, she directs Idealware’s research and writing to provide candid reports and articles about nonprofit software. Prior to Idealware, Laura founded Alder Consulting, where she helped nonprofits create Internet strategies, select appropriate software, and then build sophisticated websites on a limited budget. She has also selected software, designed interfaces and conducted user research for multi-million dollar software and website implementations with such companies as Accenture and iXL. Laura is a frequent speaker and writer on nonprofit technology topics..

Tex Dworkin is an active participant in the Fair Trade movement, both as an independent Fair Trade Consultant and Director of Social Media for Global Exchange, an international human rights organization. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Thought and Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and has a background in cooperatively structured business and non-profit entrepreneurship.
