Speaker Information 

Matt Bauer has worked to improve communities in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors for more than 25 years. Before co-founding BetterWorld Telecom in 2003, Matt served in a series of leadership roles in the telecommunications and power industries, including the AES Corporation and NETtel Communications.Matt is co-editor and author of the  Nonprofit Guide to Going Green, published by Wiley & Sons, and is regular contributor to the Washington Post as a Small Business Panelist.

Matt is a member of the Entrepreneurs' Organization, Full Circle Fund, and Social Venture Network, and serves on the national boards of the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE) and the American Sustainable Business Council. He holds a BA in Telecommunications from Indiana University and MBA from The George Washington University.

A telecom industry veteran, Brent Muckridge is the CEO of UpSource Mobile Services. He has spent over 15 years working in senior level position in telecommunications companies in the USA, Eastern Europe and Middle East. He has worked with MNOs, Fixed Line Carriers, MVNOs and cloud services providers. Brent has provided strategic leadership to the areas of finance, operations, carrier services, regulatory and administration. He has also established corporate social responsibility programs, managed outsourcing projects and led integration projects post-merger. Brent has held the roles of CFO at Wataniya Mobile in the West Bank, COO at Roshan in Afghanistan and currently, CEO of UMS. Brent holds a MBA from Babson College, F.W. Olin Graduate School for Business and a BS of Accounting from Johnson & Wales University.
