BetterWorld's hosted VoIP services allow you to replace a traditional phone system — typically a premises-based private branch exchange (PBX) — with a software-based virtual PBX that is hosted by BetterWorld. Virtual systems do not require on-site PBX hardware other than telephones and standard networking equipment. Incoming and outgoing calls are transmitted through VoIP technology over a high-speed Internet connection, which can be provided by BetterWorld or any high-speed Internet service provider.
BetterWorld's VoIP services also allow you to use unified communications (UC). UC is an integrated system of multiple communication services like telephony, call control, voicemail, email, fax, and presence information (a user's availability status). You can access these services from any location with a phone, mobile phone, or any Internet-connected device. For example, you can receive faxes and voicemails as email messages. When you work remotely, you can place calls or access other in-office voice services remotely through any phone or through a web interface.
